Closing Summer

As I was shopping at Winco, I decided to visit an aisle I rarely go down, the non grocery aisle. There I found something awesome!! LED Glasses, yep you manually turn them on and set which setting you would like; flashlight, strope one color, strope multi color! It's pretty awesome. I bought one and WOW the light is really bright! Will definitely need to close my eyes as I'm taking a drink out of that glass. :)

Alright, would you let these spiders live if you found them on your front patio?

Do you have the shivers? me too. 

I'm not exactly sure how, but Nate and I were talking about bugs/spiders, Nate told me that there was something he had known for a while but didn't want to tell me until I was ready. I knew it had to do with Spiders (since it was on topic). I told him I was ready....

He took me to the front porch one evening and showed me TWO huge spiders. After some research of finding out what kind of spiders they are (still don't really know), but according to the picture look alike and similar web characteristics research says they are both non aggressive spiders (WHEW!!) They are there to catch and eat bugs, we have A LOT of mosquitoes. 

We decided to keep them around to kill all the bugs around our house. So  a Thank you is in order to these spiders! As along as I don't catch them INSIDE MY HOUSE or territory they will live a good life. 

The only troubling thing; Are they male or female? AND when is the season to have spider babies?  

We'll cross that bridge when it comes....

This spiders web is about 4 feet long. It was hard to get a picture of this one being it was farther away from the ground and well.... Nate and I aren't the tallest people.

Being summer, Nate and I don't want or need a comforter to keep us warm. It's good to know our comforter is still loved even if  we are not using it.

Boston is such a cuddler!! WE LOVE HIM even if he is up in our faces ALL THE TIME! It reminds me that Boston is returning the love he feels from us! 

ANNUAL PUPPY POOL PARTY! 

It's our 2nd year coming and once again we had a blast. Boston was in the water more this year; after I force him in he was okay getting in by himself. I pushed him down the water slide twice and he came right back up to me! 

He wasn't as playful as last year, but no doubt he loved it, just look at that smile!

Back up the Y before winter comes

Every once in a while I take Boston on a mommy puppy date, just us two like old times (last year)! haha

This picture was taken up beyond the Y, don't you love his smile!?  Well there is more to the story MUCH MORE. 

After reaching our normal spot (look out point), we continued our adventure up the mountain. I could tell Boston was getting tired because he would stop at every shade spot and lay down. I would give him water, but he didn't drink. 

On one switch back  Boston found shade next to a shrub tree, I put water down for him. I decided after this break we will head back down. 

Well it was a VERY short break.....

Once I put water down I heard a noise within a half a second these were my thoughts "What is that noise? a bug, no it sounds more like a rattle......OH it's a RATTLE SNAKE! LEAVE THE WATER AND RUN!  I didn't see it, all I knew was that if Boston saw the snake he would try and fight/play with it and I KNOW the rattle snake would win and I would have no choice but to leave Boston because I would get bitten too if I tried to pick him up. 

SO, I called Boston in a fun pick me up voice and starting RUNNING down the mountain hoping that the snake would not follow us. 

Thankfully, the snake stayed put. What an experience, but there's more to the story.....................

On my way down I warned people, going up, that there was a rattle snake about 3-4 switch back ups. They would know where because I left my white water bowl next to a tree shrub ( I gave a little more detail to make sure they knew). 

The first man I told about the snake responded "Cool!" and kept his hike up the mountain. 

When we, Boston and I, got back to the main trail we saw that first man, we will call him Drew.

 Drew was coming down the mountain carrying his camel pack with his hands. Drew saw me and said "Was that your water bottle on the switch back?" (I didn't tell Drew about the water bowl because he was already so close to where the snake was, it was easy to explain). 

ME: yes

Drew: That snake was mean!, it didn't let me get close to the water bowl. I couldn't even pass to the next switch back........ So I cut off it's head and put it in my back pack!

Me: What? The body of the snake is in your back pack?  

Walking closer, making sure I heard him right, I see back and forth movement and confirm it's the snake.

ME: That's the snake, getting out it's last reflexes?

Drew: Yeah, I was coming down and felt it move, creep me out. I'm going home and cooking this snake for dinner.

Drew ran off and I couldn't keep up to ask him HOW he cut off the snake's head. I can only assume that if he didn't have a knife, he used a rock. There are LOTS of rocks on a mountain side. 

 A big Thank you to Drew, a brave man who took on a full grown (well from what I saw) rattle snake, the mountain is 1 less rattle snake free. 

Another HUGE Thank you to the spirit for helping me think and act quickly, knowing what to do in a panic/stressful situation. Amazing part is I didn't feel panic or stressed. There wasn't time to experience those emotions. Fight or flight. I choose Flight and I'm grateful for the knowledge given to me in that moment. It saved my dear Boston's life!  

 FUN BOSTON MOMENTS

Nate wasn't feeling very good last weekend. To avoid catching anything, I slept in our guest room. Boston decided to join me, he found his own "comfy" spot haha love him

Look who can pull themselves up, no problem. All that hard work in Cincinnati paid off. The week we got back is when Ethan really started getting the hang of standing up. 

Look mom! one hand! This boy amazes me on how quickly he catches on and figures things out.

I showed my mother in law, Julie, this picture and she said "That looks exactly like Nate at his age!" #Fatherson look alike.

Once again, this kid amazes me on what he figures out without my help.

We have been getting out to parks more often.
 Ethan enjoying a snack at an empty park! I love being a stay at home mom. It allows me the flexibility  to go to the mall, park or Costco and avoid traffic.

Once again exploring a new place. Love how this kid isn't afraid. We practice some acrobat moves on the bar. Ethan was able to hold himself for a couple of seconds. HE LOVED IT! Can't help but think what he will be interested in when he gets older. 

We celebrated our cousin Rocky's 1st birthday on Friday! Poor Rocky broke his leg a couple weeks ago, but a cast doesn't stop Rocky from getting around and playing with cousins!!
It was fun to see them play. At one point Ethan grunted, then Rocky grunted back! There was a couple more exchanges, but it happened too quick for me to get it on video! It was hilarious!
